ESGCO 2010: 6th Conference of the European Study Group on Cardiovascular Oscillations
Dear colleagues and friends,
the analysis of cardiovascular signals is an exciting discipline
in biomedical engineering. The European Study Group on Cardiovascular
Oscillations (ESGCO) was created during an Educational Training Course
of the European Society of Cardiology in 1998 by Alberto Malliani,
Tudor Griffith, Pontus Persson and Bernard Swynghedauw.
A decade later we are glad to announce the 6th meeting of the European Study Group
on Cardiovascular Oscillations ESGCO 2010 taking place April 12-14, 2010 in Berlin,
Germany, which will be hosted by the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and
the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin on occasion of their
Bicentennial resp. Tricentennial .
The first meeting of the Group was organized by Tudor Griffith, in Cardiff, Wales in 2000.
The following meetings took place in Siena, Italy (2002), Leuven, Belgium (2004),
Jena, Germany (2006) and Parma, Italy (2008).
The ESGCO 2010 meeting aims to foster interdisciplinary discussions between scientists and
professionals from different fields including medicine, biology, neuroscience, physics,
engineering and computer science. It contains the analysis of signals
generated by an organism in order to extract relevant information about their regulating mechanisms,
current states and transitions.
On behalf of the scientific committee, we invite you to be part of the exciting process of
realizing a successful congress. Mark your calendars and plan early to submit your
contributions.
We will be looking forward to welcoming you as the experts in this field in Berlin in 2010.
The "ESCGO 2010" conference chairs
Robert Bauernschmitt
(German Heart Center Munich)
Pontus Persson
(Charité Berlin)
